An important symbol of Hindu and Buddhist faith, bells are seen in the temple entrances, altar or the sanctorum. Following the traditions, Hindus keep bells right at the entrance of their homes hanging from the ceilings or pillar bars.
This brass bell has two divisions, in the first and top part, two bells are clasped to a brass bar in the middle. The image on the top bar is that of a Hindu God in sitting position. The next division, that is hanging, has another brass square bar with two bells on two sides and one hanging from the middle. The image and carving on the bar is that of Goddess Saraswati with her “Veena” (musical instrument).
