To minimize shrinkage, curtains should be washed in cold water with a mild detergent. Woolen curtains should not be wrung and should always be dried in shade. It is preferable to dry them flat instead of hanging them as hanging woolen articles causes them to lose their shape. The best option is to get the curtains dry cleaned. This may be expensive, but the curtains last longer and retain their color and shape for a longer time. Curtains are a type of window treatment and contribute to the overall look of a house.
