Printed Bed Cover

Bed Covers are top sheets laid on bed sheets to protect the bed sheets from getting dirty and soiled. Bed covers are elaborately worked or printed fabrics. They are made on broadlooms and are very colorful. Bed covers are printed with eye catching designs to make them look attractive. Bed covers or bed spreads can make a room look homely and comfortable. Bright colors used in bed covers liven up the bedroom. Bed covers hang down on all sides of the bed instead of being tucked in.

Buying Printed Bed Covers:
The important point to remember while buying printed bed covers is the thread count of the fabric. The best fabrics have a high thread count. A sheet should not have a thread count of less than 175. In case of cotton fabrics it is necessary to check whether the fibers used are long stapled or short. The best quality cotton are the Egyptian Cotton and Supima cotton. Other materials like silk, satin or cotton blends have a high gloss and give an elegant look. Glossy materials give off a brighter color but they are likely to be more expensive. It is not necessary to buy a branded cover.

The base fabric used by the brand is the same as that of the unbranded bed cover. The bed spread should be checked to see if the print is colorfast. If the printed spread is not colorfast, it will fade out faster and look drab. Another necessary thing to check is that the pocket size of the spread is correctly measured. If the printed bed cover is too short, the sheet underneath will show and give a bad look to the overall appearance.
Motifs on Printed Bed Covers
Traditionally floral or other natural motifs were used in printing. Nowadays, the designs are determined on computers. Geometric and psychedelic prints are also printed on bed covers. Hand printed bed covers still use floral or animal motifs.
