A patchwork bed sheet is a well tailored piece of cloth created by piecing together various patches of cloth. A bed sheet is used to cover the mattress. A Patchwork Bed Sheet can be used in all seasons. They are especially used in the children's room, which are created by joining various cartoon pictures or even alphabets or numbers in bold. In order to provide extra warmth to the bed these bed covers can be quilted. Appliqués can also be made on the separate pieces and then they may be joined together. How to make a Patchwork Bed Sheet:
A patchwork bed sheet can be easily hand crafted. The following steps should be followed while making a patchwork bed sheet:
- First the various pieces should be cut with straight edges or in geometric shapes so that they can be easily sewn together.
- Secondly, the pieces should be stitched together using straight stitches or stuck together with a good adhesive.
- A pattern needs to be chalked out at this stage according to which the pieces would be arranged.
- The pieces can be stitched randomly or a patchwork block may be repeated at regular intervals. The pieces can also be stitched along vertical or horizontal strips and then these strips may be joined together.
- Frills, ruffles or laces may be attached to the edges of the bed sheets to give them an attractive appearance.
- After the stitching is complete the bed sheet should be steam-ironed to flatten the stitches and give it a neat look.

Maintenance of Patchwork Bed Sheets:
A patchwork bed sheet is made of different colors. Thus the main thing that should be kept in mind is the preservation of these colors. Washing them in hot water should be avoided. They should preferably be dried cleaned. They can also be machine-washed but not machine-dried; rather they should be hung on the clothes line to drip-dry.
