Duvet Bed Cover

Duvets form a part of bedding materials. Duvets are soft and flat and stuffed with silk, wool or artificial fibers. Duvets are commonly used as blankets. But in Northern Europe and Scandinavia, duvets are also used as bed coverings instead of bed sheets. Use of duvets as bed covers eliminates the problems of using quilts, sheets, blankets and other bedding materials.
Using a Duvet Bed Cover:
Duvets are often encased in duvet covers and then used as bed covers. Duvets are light and can be stored easily. Duvet bed covers usually are made of two types of fabrics. The top side is usually of a fancy and showy material and the downside is of a warm fabric. Both the fabrics are light to enable easy cleaning. Using duvet bed covers is an easy way to make a room look more cheerful.

Designs in Duvet Bed Covers:
Duvet Bed Covers are available in a wide range of designs and patterns. The top side of the duvet is often appliquéd or embroidered to make it look more attractive when spread out. Many duvets are painted with fabric paint or have sequins or beads sewn on them. A duvet bed cover may have braided or Zari borders. Nowadays saris are used in making duvet bed covers. The sari material has to be soft and comfortable enough to be made into a duvet bed cover. The weaves and colors of the sari create interesting motifs and designs. Duvet bed covers can also be custom designed according to customer's specifications.

Care of Duvet Bed Covers:
Most of the duvet bed covers available today are machine washable. However it is best to follow the instructions issued by the manufacturer. A duvet bed cover should be washed in mild detergent to prevent flattening of the fibers. The covers should not be washed with bleach or brightener as they damage the down protective layer on the duvet. Duvet bed covers should always be dried in shade
