  • If you wash cotton bedspread or other cotton home furnishings in a washing machine, then it is best to wash these bed linens and cotton curtains on a ‘gentle’ cycle and in a small to moderate size load.
  • You should never wash towels, blue jeans and bedspreads together, as washing together will scour the surface of the fabric. Always wash white, colored, and dark fabrics separately.
  • You should never use ‘water saver’ settings in the washing machine. In less water, fabrics tend to scrub against themselves and lose its sheen.
  • You can even machine dry the cotton bedspread but on delicate and moderate temperatures. You should never over dry the fabric. You should immediately remove the bedspread at the end of the cycle.
  • Ironing is recommended while the cotton bedspread is still damp.
  • You should never use liquid fabric softener, bleach or any detergent containing bleach. Moreover, while rinsing the home furnishings or apparels, you should make sure that all soap is thoroughly rinsed out.
