Oak can be referred to any of hundred species of trees and shrubs in the genus Quercus. Other related genera—Cyclobalanopsis and Lithocarpus can also be termed as oak. Northern Hemisphere is the homeland of this genus. Besides, there are other deciduous and evergreen species that originate in the tropical Asia and the Americans.
