Digital Painting

As the contemporary culture relates more to concepts and ideas presented on screen, digital painting is gaining immense popularity all across the globe. Digital painting is referred to an emerging form of art in which conventional painting techniques are put into use by means of a computer, a digitizing tablet, stylus and various other softwares

The digital painters implement these techniques directly on the computer screen. The digital paintings are all about various notions and conceptions and each digital canvas is believed to carry a seamless plot which otherwise could not be achieved using traditional techniques. The digital paintings clearly illustrate the various shades of society and are a gentle radiance of the surreal art, new artistic expressions and also new elements.

The digital paintings are believed to be a unique blend of creativity and technology and can be classified in various types such as realism, impressionism and watercolor. The foremost difference between digital paintings and traditional paintings is the non-linear process which signifies that the artist can arrange his painting in consecutive layers which can be later edited independently according to the requirements. In the case of digital painting the scope of employing the techniques is limited due to the surface differences and lack of physicality. Digital painting finds the strongest expression in the arena of production art and is implemented in conceptual design for film, video games and television.
