Banarsi Saree Women Apparels

Saree is a graceful Indian apparel. Today most of the Indian women prefer adorning a saree to look more graceful. Owning a Banarasi Saree Women Apparel is a must for each and every woman to have in her wardrobe. At least one Banarasi saree is included in the wedding trousseau of a woman. Banarasi Saree holds a unique status in the world of fashion also. Countless number of renowned fashion courtiers have been fascinated by the skill and talent of Indian Contemporary weavers.

Banarasi Sarees are manufactured in various parts Banaras and Uttar Pradesh come in various styles including Jangla, Tanchoi, Vaskat, Cutwork, Tishu and Butidar. The materials used for making them include pure silk, organza, georgette and shattir. Main designs or motifs include buties, bells, buttas, creepers etc. The crux of the Banarasi Saree is the use of gold and silver threads to weave the motifs.

Jamdani Banarasi sarees have a special touch as the motifs are woven with cotton threads. These Banarasi sarees are distinct with chameli, panna hazar, genda buti and tircha motifs and also the extra special with floral mango buta (konia). The Jamwar Tanchoi sarees contain intricate Jamawar paisley motifs which are inspired from Kashmiri Jamawar shawls. On the other hand, Butidar sarees are designed with gold, silver and silk threads. Ample motifs or buttis are used in designing these sarees. For eg Kairy Kalanga, Reshem Butti, Mehrab Bail, Gojar bail, Kuttar bail, angoor bail, kalma butti etc.

To make a single saree, at least three people are involved while the time taken can be from 15 days to six months depending upon the design being made on these sarees. The saree making is more of a cottage industry for several million people around Varanasi encompassing Gorakhpur and Azamgarh as well. The Banarasi saree apparel is also exported all over the world.

Banarasi sarees are no doubt expensive due to its material, thread, design and meticulous labor involved but even then it is a must have possession for every Indian woman.
